Industrial hanging lamp aluminum 38 cm dimmable - Anteros
Can the height of this lamp be less i.e. does the wire have to hang so low or can it be shortened? Thanks.

Yes, you can shorten the height of the fabric suspension cord, the cord length on its own is 123cm.

I need a drop from the ceiling to the bottom of the actual light of about 65 cm to go over a kitchen island so can the cable be shortened to accommodate this?
