What you should pay attention to while buying light garlands is the IP rating. The IP value shows how well a lamp can withstand water and dust. For a garden light string, you should have at least an IP value of IP44. This lamp is then suitable for sheltered outdoor areas such as under a canopy. For a light cord that is splash-proof, you should go for at least an IP54. In spaces in your garden that are not sheltered, it is better to go for an IP value of IP65, the lamp is then protected against water jets. Also important to look at is the Kelvin value. The Kelvin number of a lamp indicates the light colour of the light. This is also often called the colour temperature of the light. Up to 2700K is Extra warm white light, 2700K - 3000K is warm white light, 3001K - 4000K neutral white light and over 4000K is cold light. For functional light, it is important to buy a Kelvin value of at least 3000K. For more ambience in your garden, a lower Kelvin value is better. Some of our light cords are dimmable and thus provide functional light and atmospheric light.

What size light string is suitable for my garden?

Before deciding on the appropriate length for your fairy string lights, it's important to first accurately measure the dimensions of your garden at the location where you intend to hang the outdoor string lights. It's advisable to keep an extra margin of 1 to 2 meters in mind. This way, the string lights can be hung without being too taut. This additional space ensures an attractive presentation and prevents unnecessary tension on the cord. To create the desired ambiance in your garden, you can aim for one light point per meter. By working in this manner, you ensure even distribution of light.
